The year 2024 has been another exciting chapter for us! We continued to grow, innovate, and make a real impact on the lives of our mentees, mentors, and community members. 2024 was marked by new milestones, platform updates, successful events, and expansion into new communities. I am incredibly proud of what our team has achieved, all while navigating changes, welcoming new team members, and celebrating two new babies in the team (with one more on the way!). A huge shoutout to everyone in our team who made this possible, and to our community and partners for their continued trust and support. Here are some of our key achievements this year!

Matched over 400 mentees with their mentors

We matched 400 mentees with their mentors, bringing us closer to 2,000 matches overall. While slightly fewer matches than last year, our focus remained on delivering impactful experiences. About 10% of our mentees received scholarships for women in financial need, students, or mothers on maternity leave.

The top five topics mentees focused on this year included team management, self-confidence and imposter syndrome, communication skills, leadership skills, and strategic thinking. We’re proud that our mentoring program continues to help mentees overcome challenges, grow in their careers, and gain confidence.

Grew our mentor community and celebrated their contributions

We welcomed 250 new mentors this year from countries such as the Czech Republic, the UK, the Netherlands, and Germany. Our mentor community continues to grow stronger, and we are constantly inspired by their dedication.

We run new initiatives for mentors, including Mentor Week, where 12 mentors shared their tips and tricks for effective mentoring. Our Mentor Awards celebrated 94 outstanding mentors across various categories—read more about the awardees here.

Launched exciting updates to the mentoring platform

We focused on enhancing our mentoring platform to improve the mentoring experience for both mentors and mentees. We introduced a new dashboard that serves as a centralized hub for all mentoring activities and resources. Other key updates include enhanced collaboration tools like the session tracker, shared notes for better communication, new notifications, task tracker, and more.

Developed new tech products for the community

A significant addition this year was the Career Planner, designed to help people map out their career journeys—from short-term goal tracking to long-term planning and career essentials. Try the Career Planner here. We also launched the SMART Goals Generator, a tool to help not only mentees but anyone set actionable and measurable goals. Explore the SMART Goals Generator here.

Welcomed new company clients

This year, we continued to grow our partnerships, helping mentees from companies such as Barclays, Mews, Bonami, Make, and Sthree. We were also thrilled to welcome new clients like Tietoevry and Sennder. Our focus remains on providing company employees with the tools, mentors, and resources to advance in their careers, particularly in leadership.

Expanded our community to new cities

We expanded our community to Amsterdam and Barcelona this year through the efforts of our ambassadors. A big shoutout to Julia Gumeniuk and Vanda Adlerova for launching the communities and organizing the first events. They’ve now passed the torch to our new ambassadors, Anna Iliukevich-Yanovskaya and Barbora Drozdova, who will continue to nurture and grow these communities.

In Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Berlin, we hosted over 10 community events and meetups. Our growth in these cities demonstrates how much women value spaces for career growth, leadership discussions, and connection.

Organized impactful events

This year, we organized 30+ events with 1,000+ attendees and received an amazing 4.5/5 average feedback score. Some of the highlights include organizing events such as:

  • Financial Wellness Event: Empowering women with tools for financial health and confidence.
  • Women’s Health Event: Tackling important topics on women’s health and longevity.
  • Women in Tech Event: Helping women in tech thrive and grow in their roles.
  • Female Founders Event: Helping entrepreneurial women to launch and grow their businesses.

Next year we’re planning to continue with these event concepts, deepening the topics. We’ll also be adding more topics such as Motherhood & Career!

Our Leadership Conference was a major highlight, selling out with 250 attendees. The event brought together inspiring leaders to discuss topics such as the unspoken reality of leadership, strategies for career growth, building a personal brand and confidence, authentic leadership, and more. Will you join us next year? Book your calendar for 4.10.2025. Read the conference highlights here.

What’s next?

In 2025, we will continue to focus on growing our mentoring programs, developing new tools to support career growth, expanding into new markets, and delivering high-quality events that empower women in their careers and other aspects of their lives.

Thank you to our team, mentors, mentees, and partners for making 2024 such a memorable and impactful year. Here’s to another year of growth, connection, and success!

Mentoring in tech isn’t just for juniors: Why mid-level women are seeking mentors too

When you hear the word “mentoring,” you might picture someone fresh out of university or just starting their first role in tech, eager for guidance. And while early-career mentoring is powerful, there’s a growing trend we see at Femme Palette: more and more mid-level women in tech are actively seeking out mentors — and reaping major benefits. Whether you're a software engineer eyeing your first leadership role, a product manager navigating a complex team dynamic, or a data analyst feeling stuck in the same projects — mentoring at this stage isn’t about learning the ropes. It’s about gaining clarity, confidence, and strategy for your next move.

Science and Health: Why are women missing information men have had available for ages? And what do we already know about the female body today?

Women have been, and unfortunately still are, often overlooked in health research. Even in the 1990s, women were rarely included in clinical studies. This lack of research has led to a higher rate of adverse drug reactions—twice as high compared to men. Women with metal hip implants had a 29% higher likelihood of implant failure due to anatomical differences. Diagnosing endometriosis takes an average of 7–10 years, despite up to 10% of reproductive-age women worldwide suffering from it. Only in 2022 did a Harvard study confirm that women's representation in research remains insufficient. For a long time, the male body was considered the medical norm. Today, we know this simply isn't the case.

Věda a zdraví: Proč ženám chybí informace, které mají muži dávno k dispozici? A co už dnes víme o ženském těle?
