The recent Femme Palette event, "Balancing Motherhood & Career," brought together mothers and professionals for an inspiring day filled with practical strategies, authentic stories, and powerful networking opportunities. Hosted in collaboration with Accolade and other partners, the event emphasized community and mutual support from the outset, with Lucie Neumanová, CEO and co-founder of Femme Palette, setting a welcoming and inclusive tone.

Technological insights and the future of parenting

Kateřina Lesch, Head of AI & Data at EmbedIT, delivered a captivating session titled "Motherhood in the Age of AI." Participants appreciated how she seamlessly connected parenting and technology, showcasing practical AI-driven tools for home automation, family scheduling, and child development. Attendees were intrigued by the exploration of how technology can alleviate the mental load on parents, offering suggestions on using AI-based assistants for daily tasks, scheduling, and even security, enabling more meaningful and intentional family interactions. One attendee remarked enthusiastically, "I really enjoyed Katerina & the panel discussions," highlighting how relatable and actionable the insights were.

Real-life stories, leadership, and practical strategies

The event featured several compelling sessions, notably the panel "Real Stories, Real Strategies," with speakers Oksana Muse, Silvie Zeman, and Jana Sedláková, moderated by Kristýna Cejnarová from MUMDOO. These accomplished women shared personal experiences and effective approaches to balancing professional aspirations and motherhood. Their honest reflections, filled with humor and genuine emotion, resonated deeply with attendees. As one participant expressed, "Wow, thank you very much! It’s so refreshing to hear everything is possible and that everyone has a different approach to dealing with career and kids!" This sentiment captured the panel's authenticity and the comfort it provided to attendees navigating similar paths.

In a special presentation, "10 Lessons from 10 Years of Entrepreneurship While Raising 3 Kids," Martin Borl stepped in for his wife Klára Borlová, who couldn't attend. He eloquently shared their journey running the family business "Little Shoes," focusing on valuable lessons learned through balancing entrepreneurship and parenting. Martin emphasized essential themes such as the importance of investing in what truly matters, setting clear boundaries, and delegating tasks without guilt. His sincere and practical advice resonated profoundly, reminding attendees that balance is about intentional choices rather than perfect equilibrium.

A powerful leadership discussion moderated by Lucie Neumanová brought further depth to the conversation, featuring leaders Lenka Helena Koenigsmark, Alice Bednaríková, and Dita Formánková. The panelists openly discussed their challenges and strategies in managing significant professional roles while nurturing family life. Their insights into maintaining visibility at work, setting realistic expectations, and prioritizing mental health provided valuable guidance. Audience members described the discussion as "inspiring" and "honest," underscoring the strength and clarity these leaders brought to the complex intersection of motherhood and career ambition.

Marv Shamma, founder of Základní škola FLOW, conducted a highly interactive and practical workshop titled "Building Balance Together," emphasizing strategies for effective communication, shared responsibilities, and supportive co-parenting dynamics. Attendees found his session particularly insightful, appreciating concrete advice such as dividing responsibilities clearly and fostering positive communication with co-parents. These strategies provided a realistic framework for enhancing family harmony alongside career demands.

Concluding the day, Šárka Homfray offered an empowering talk on advocating for oneself at work, emphasizing the importance of confidently requesting flexible arrangements, promotions, and fair compensation. Participants found her guidance especially reassuring, noting that advocacy is a strategic skill crucial for professional growth and personal well-being. Šárka’s talk reinforced the empowering message that asking for support and flexibility is a strength, not a sign of weakness.

A day of connection and celebration

The atmosphere throughout the event was marked by positivity, mutual encouragement, and a powerful sense of community. Attendees appreciated the honest and supportive environment created by speakers and organizers alike. One participant summarized their experience by stating, "Great speakers, appreciated the open supportive energy while sharing authentic life stories." Another attendee highlighted the relatable nature of the event, remarking, "I really like the format of the event as well as the honesty, openness, and real-life stories of speakers."

As the day concluded, participants felt empowered, inspired, and deeply connected through shared experiences and practical advice. The event successfully celebrated the resilience, accomplishments, and ongoing journeys of women balancing motherhood and professional aspirations, reinforcing the vital message that it is not only achievable but also profoundly rewarding.
