Eliška Jirovcová Skarolková

Innovation Designer
IBM
Location:
Czech Republic
Mentoring focus:
Design, IT/Tech/Product, Project Management
Formally an industrial designer with a strong focus on aesthetics, Eliška didn’t want to spend her life designing only beautiful products with no additional value for society. A Masters degree in Design for Sustainability at SCAD (USA) allowed her to redirect her focus to social innovations and designing services and sustainability.
She holds several recognitions for social and environmental sustainability projects such as improving the life of smallholder farmers in Nigeria, or health prevention and education in rural Kenya.
Eliška currently works as an Innovation Designer at IBM, Czech Republic. She helps drive design thinking and facilitates the creative process with her clients and technical colleagues. Her teams’ projects center mostly around AI innovations with a strong focus on human experience and ethical use of AI.
Eliška also volunteers for a Czech non-profit organisation Green Dock, which applies behavioural design and science for a more sustainable Czech Republic.
